1760 Series Component Waveform/Vector Monitor User Manual

Waveform Monitor A specialized oscilloscope that plots

voltage versus time to evaluate television signals.

Y Abbreviation for luminance.

Y, I,Q The set of CAV signal s specified for the NTSC sys-

tem; Y is the l uminance signal, I is the first col or difference

signal and Q is the second color difference signal.

Y, P

A version of Y, R --Y, B--Y specified for the

SMPTE analog component standard.

Y, R -- Y, B -- Y The general set of CAV signals used in the

PAL system; Y is the luminance signal, R--Y is the first color

difference signal and B--Y is the second color difference sig-

nal.

Zero Carrier Reference A pulse in the vertical interval

which is produced by the demodulator to provide a reference

for evaluating depth of modulation.
